Most accountants treat property as one service line among many. Raju Gajurel built a firm that does nothing else. Founded in London in 2016 with no clients, no inherited book of business and no outside funding, UK Property Accountants has become the practice he leads at the technically demanding intersection of tax and property, and that achievement has made him a finalist for The Cazenove Capital Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the 2026 Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards.
Depth, not breadth
A qualified chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser, Gajurel chose to specialise where others hesitate. His firm handles the work generalist accountants tend to avoid: stamp duty refunds on uninhabitable properties, capital gains for non-residents, complex group structures and multi-country consolidations. According to the business, UK Property Accountants now looks after around 4,000 landlords, investors, developers and funds across 57 countries, clients who rarely find one firm able to do all of this and still answer the phone. Closing that gap, Gajurel says, is the business.
An entrepreneur who builds his own tools
What sets the firm apart is technology Gajurel built himself. Rather than stitching together off-the-shelf software, he created a practice management platform so the firm’s service standards are embedded in the system rather than left to individual diligence. He took the same approach with RentalBux, HMRC-recognised software covering UK property, foreign property and self-employment income, a breadth most general platforms do not yet offer. Both were designed to solve the firm’s own problems first, then opened to the wider market.
The results, in the firm’s own account, speak plainly: revenue grown from nothing to a projected 2.9 million pounds in 2026, a 4.8 Trustpilot rating from more than 400 verified reviews, over 97 per cent client retention and roughly 150 new clients a month won almost entirely through reputation and referral.
A voice in the sector
Gajurel is also the author of a practical handbook on Making Tax Digital and speaks regularly across the property and accountancy sectors, extending his influence beyond his own client base. That combination of deep specialism, self-built technology and steady, referral-led growth is the kind of personal leadership the entrepreneur category is designed to celebrate. Finalists across the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards will learn the outcome at Grosvenor House, London on 10 November 2026.
