And sometimes, the smallest steps can lead to something extraordinary.

From the Dance Floor to the Forest

At our 2025 Awards Ceremony, guests experienced a unique innovation in action – a kinetic dance floor created by energy technology company Pavegen, transforming the movement of attendees into renewable energy.

But the impact of those footsteps didn’t end when the music stopped.

As part of the initiative, the energy generated through the dance floor was to be offset through tree planting on a UK farm, creating a lasting legacy of the evening.

And so, the BBEA Forest was born.

Planting the Seeds of a Greener Future

Thanks to the generosity of Andrew Hulbert, founder of Pareto FM and a former BBEA finalist, who kindly donated the land, the BBEA Forest has become a reality.

The Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards donated 1,000 trees to help establish a forest that will grow and flourish for years to come.

It’s a wonderful example of what can happen when innovation, generosity and a shared commitment to sustainability come together.

What began with the energy of a room full of people celebrating British business excellence is now contributing to something that will continue growing long into the future.
