EPIC Global Solutions, an international education and consultancy business that helps organisations prevent gambling-related harm by drawing on lived experience, has been named a finalist in The Purpose Beyond Profit Award at the 2026 Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards.
The finalist line-up was confirmed in July 2026, and the winners will be revealed at a ceremony at Grosvenor House in London on 10 November 2026. For EPIC, founded in 2013, a place on the shortlist recognises more than a decade of work in a sensitive field, helping to reduce the harm that gambling can cause to individuals, teams and whole organisations.
Prevention built on lived experience
The business operates across the gambling, sport and education sectors, delivering learning and consultancy programmes that bring together first-hand storytelling, behavioural insight and evidence-led teaching. Its clients include leading global operators, sports organisations, educational institutions and governing bodies, united, the company says, by a shared commitment to building safer environments.
What sets EPIC apart, according to the business, is that its programmes are developed and delivered with people who have personally experienced gambling-related harm. That first-hand perspective, it reports, makes the learning credible, engaging and capable of influencing real-world decision-making, and has helped the firm establish a distinctive position in player protection and prevention.
From founder-led consultancy to 24 countries
Over the past decade, EPIC has grown from a founder-led consultancy into an international prevention and education business operating across 38 countries. During 2025, the company reports, it delivered programmes to more than 23,000 NCAA student-athletes and staff across 94 institutions, while its digital learning solutions reached 68,435 learners. Independent evaluation across multiple programmes has demonstrated significant improvements in awareness of gambling-related harm, confidence to seek support and understanding of integrity risks, according to the business.
The company’s website lists its head office in Wigan, Greater Manchester, and its newsroom reports that its ISO 9001 quality management certification has been renewed for a seventh consecutive year.
EPIC’s work sits against a backdrop of sustained public attention on gambling in Britain. The Gambling Commission’s Gambling Survey for Great Britain, which the regulator describes as one of the largest studies of gambling behaviour in the world, gathers data from around 20,000 respondents each year to track participation and the consequences of gambling. The survey is carried out for the regulator by the National Centre for Social Research in collaboration with the University of Glasgow.
The road to Grosvenor House
The Purpose Beyond Profit Award asks entrants to show how purpose has been brought to life across an organisation, and how a purpose-led approach has supported commercial success or social impact. According to the awards organisers, judges also consider how leadership supports and incentivises purpose, and how being purpose-led has helped a business attract and retain both customers and employees. EPIC now joins fellow finalists from across the country ahead of the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards ceremony in November, where the winner in each category will be announced.
