Arvag, the Kent company that has grown from a local pest control business into one of the UK’s fastest-growing compliance and building safety specialists, has been named a finalist in The Vistage Growth Business of the Year Award at the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026.
Founded in 2012, Arvag Limited now operates nationally across the social housing, defence, public and commercial property sectors, helping clients meet increasingly complex regulatory, safety and environmental requirements. Its integrated offering spans fire safety, passive fire protection, fire door manufacture and installation, electrical compliance, damp and mould remediation, disrepair works, pest control and property maintenance. Clients include housing associations, local authorities, defence estates and major commercial property owners, all facing growing obligations around building safety, resident wellbeing and asset compliance.
One business, end to end
What differentiates Arvag, the company says, is its ability to provide a true end-to-end solution. Unlike many competitors, it combines consultancy, survey, manufacture, installation, maintenance and compliance management within a single business, giving clients greater accountability, improved quality assurance, shorter lead times and complete traceability across the lifecycle of their assets. The company’s history, from its origins under the Apest name through to the Arvag brand, is set out on the Arvag website, which also reports recent delivery of a £3.1 million fire safety programme for the Ministry of Defence at RAF Leeming, completed in 2025.
A manufacturing milestone
A key moment in the company’s growth has been the opening of its new manufacturing facility at Merlin House in Kent. The investment has increased fire door production capacity from approximately 10 doorsets per day to up to 100, creating what the business describes as one of the region’s most advanced integrated fire door manufacturing and compliance operations, supporting its commitment to innovation, sustainability and safer buildings.
The financial results are striking. According to the business, turnover has risen from £5.6 million in 2022 to £13.2 million in 2024, with forecast turnover of £18.5 million in 2026, achieved while continuing to invest in people, technology, manufacturing capability and community impact. Arvag attributes its success to anticipating industry change, responding to emerging legislation and helping clients create safer, healthier and more compliant environments for the communities they serve.
Recognition for a national partner
Today Arvag positions itself as a trusted partner in building safety, compliance and property improvement, protecting people, properties and communities across the UK. It now joins the shortlist for The Vistage Growth Business of the Year Award, which recognises businesses with revenues up to £25m achieving growth across a range of metrics. The winner will be announced at the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards ceremony at Grosvenor House, London on 10 November 2026, where the Kent firm will learn whether its transformation story has secured a national title.
