The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is delighted to present the Department for Business and Trade International Expansion of the Year Award at the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026.

This prestigious award aims to showcase the very best of UK SME exporters.

DBT is the UK Government’s department for economic growth. It helps UK businesses start, scale and grow internationally, creating jobs and opportunities across the country. This support is delivered via its Business Growth Service (BGS).

For businesses selling overseas, the BGS highlights export opportunities, offers insights on global markets and advises on the best ways to navigate trade processes for products and services.

Broader learning and development support is also available. The Business Academy, part of the BGS, offers essential skills training on leadership, management and digital skills, as well as exporting.
