Camlin Group, the Lisburn-headquartered manufacturing and technology company whose monitoring systems keep watch over electricity networks around the world, has been named a finalist in The Dext Innovation Award at The Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026.
The Northern Ireland business designs, develops and manufactures monitoring and analytics technologies that improve the performance, safety and reliability of electrical infrastructure, supporting the global energy transition. Finalists were announced in July 2026, and the winners will be revealed at Grosvenor House in London on 10 November 2026.
Early warnings for the electricity grid
Camlin’s technologies, including LineSIGHT, TOTUS, PRESense, ForeSIGHT and Sapient, give utilities real-time visibility across transformers, substations, low-voltage networks and overhead lines. The aim is to detect emerging faults before they escalate into outages, safety incidents or costly asset failures, helping customers move from reactive maintenance to data-driven, condition-based operation, extend asset life, improve resilience and make smarter investment decisions.
As power systems become larger, more diverse and more distributed, the company says its solutions unlock additional capacity from existing assets, reduce outage and safety risks, and accelerate the decarbonisation of electricity networks at the lowest cost, supporting the smarter, safer and more resilient infrastructure needed for net zero.
According to the business, it holds successful partnerships with all GB distribution network operators as well as major utilities internationally, and is differentiated by its deep understanding of the electrical energy sector, its UK-based design and manufacturing capability, and a proven ability to turn innovation into deployed infrastructure. That track record underpins its place on the shortlist for The Dext Innovation Award this year.
A high-growth UK industrial story
The company reports that it employs more than 650 people in highly skilled engineering, manufacturing, software and data roles, supports hundreds of UK SMEs through its supply chain, and has operations and deployments in 17 countries. Turnover has grown from around £20m in 2018 to £88.2m in FY2024, according to the business, which projects revenue of more than £110m in 2026 and has earned recognition in the Sunday Times Tech 100.
An agreement with Siemens Energy
Camlin’s growth has not gone unnoticed. In 2026, Siemens Energy reached an agreement to acquire Camlin Group, subject to approval, a move the company says recognises the strength of its technology, skilled workforce, advanced software portfolio and customer relationships, and supports the next phase of its global growth.
In a recent press release, Siemens Energy said the acquisition would expand its digital grid portfolio at a time of accelerated global investment in electricity networks, with the transaction subject to regulatory approvals and expected to close before the end of 2026.
Camlin Group now joins finalists from across the UK ahead of the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards ceremony in November, where the winner of each category will be announced.
