Simple Online Healthcare

Awards night Tuesday 14th November Grosvenor House, London

Simple Online Healthcare, a Glasgow-headquartered digital healthcare company trading in the UK as Simple Online Pharmacy, is a finalist in two categories at the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026: The Blick Rothenberg Mid-Market Growth Business of the Year Award and The Inclusion Award. The business provides clinical assessment, prescribing and dispensing directly to patients, with a particular focus on weight management, GLP-1 treatment and metabolic health, alongside men’s and women’s health.

Founded in 2015 and fully self-funded, the company reports revenue growth from £24.3m in FY23 to £155m in FY26, a more than six-fold increase in three years. That record has earned it a place on the shortlist for the mid-market growth category, with winners to be announced at Grosvenor House, London, on 10 November 2026.

A regulated answer to a stretched system

According to the business, nearly two-thirds of UK adults find it difficult to access a GP, while obesity alone costs the UK economy over £126 billion a year. Its response is a fully regulated, end-to-end clinical pathway covering assessment, prescribing, dispensing and ongoing multidisciplinary support, built and vertically integrated in-house rather than assembled from fragmented providers.

That model operates under UK pharmacy regulation. Simple Online Pharmacy appears on the General Pharmaceutical Council’s register under number 9011287, and the regulator’s register entry records its Glasgow premises, its owner Simple Online Healthcare Ltd and a published inspection report.

Growth without external capital

The company says it has scaled while holding clinical standards firm, with same-day dispensing above 99% and prescribing error rates below 0.1%, figures it describes as more typical of a far smaller provider. The business is profitable, debt-free and self-funded, reinvesting profits in clinical governance, technology and its workforce rather than distributing them to investors.

According to the business, it has served over 1 million patients and expanded into Australia and Germany.

A second shortlist, for inclusion

The company is also a finalist in The Inclusion Award, and its entry for that category centres on patients that traditional healthcare routes underserve. According to the business, the service was built for people without access to 9-to-5 GP appointments, such as shift and night workers and those with caring responsibilities, and for patients for whom discretion is essential, since conditions it treats, from weight management to men’s and women’s health, often carry significant social stigma. Research commissioned by the company found that two-thirds of GLP-1 patients hide their treatment from friends or family, 38% report being judged for it, and only 26% of UK adults feel comfortable discussing GLP-1 use at all, findings it says shaped a service designed around privacy, discretion and compassion. Among its weight-management patients, the company reports, over 90% say their general health has improved and one in three say they would otherwise have gone untreated.

The same thinking runs through the workforce, the business says, citing a 0% gender pay gap, 100% equity participation, Living Wage employment with no zero-hours contracts, an on-site prayer room and flexible hours for its Muslim colleagues, and English tuition for refugee employees. Women hold senior leadership roles across the business, including Chief Operating Officer and Superintendent Pharmacist. Headquartered in Glasgow’s East End, with a team grown from 69 to over 150 people, more than 80% of them Scotland-based, the firm argues that inclusive design and commercial performance reinforce one another.

Recognition ahead of November

The firm’s progress has been recognised elsewhere. It was named Fast Growth Business of the Year at the Scotland Business of the Year Awards 2026, ranked 48th in the 2026 Sunday Times 100 as the second-highest ranked Scottish and healthcare business on the list, and featured in the inaugural Sunday Times Scotland Fast 50 in the Global Ambition category. Chief executive Addy Mohammed has been shortlisted for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards and the Great British Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, Scotland region.

Simple Online Healthcare’s case to the judges is that growth and scale can come as a result of, not in spite of, clinical excellence, rigour, safety and positive patient outcomes. It now awaits the verdict in both categories alongside its fellow finalists at the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards ceremony in November.
