Everflow

Awards night Tuesday 14th November Grosvenor House, London

Business utilities provider Everflow has been named a finalist in two categories at the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026, The Blick Rothenberg Mid-Market Growth Business of the Year Award and The Customer Loyalty Award, with the winners to be revealed at Grosvenor House, London on 10 November 2026.

Founded in 2015, Everflow supplies water, waste management and connectivity services to businesses, and now supports more than 120,000 customers across over 200,000 supply points, according to its awards entry. Its place on the shortlist for the mid-market growth category follows a period of rapid expansion, with the company reporting a 62% rise in turnover between 2023 and 2025.

Simplifying a crowded market

Everflow competes in Britain’s open business water market. According to Ofwat, the water regulator, more than 1.2 million businesses, charities and public sector bodies in England and Wales have been able to choose their supplier of water and wastewater retail services since the market opened in April 2017, making it the largest competitive water retail market in the world.

It is a sector many customers associate with complexity and frustrating service, and Everflow’s stated mission is to “make utilities simple” by pairing intuitive digital tools with proactive support and transparent value. The approach appears to have resonated. Over the past three years, the company reports, more than 25% of all business water switches have gone to Everflow, almost double the share of its nearest competitor, giving it 8% of the UK water retail market.

Betting on automation and AI

Technology sits at the centre of the growth story, with heavy investment in automation, AI and customer self-service. In 2025 Everflow launched Project Merlin, an AI-enabled knowledge platform that gives customer service teams instant access to operational information. According to the business, Merlin has cut case resolution times by 35% and significantly improved response times.

Customers manage their utilities through an online Customer Portal, while automated monitoring tools alert more than 2,000 customers each month to potential water leaks. In 2025 alone, the company says, the small businesses it supplies saved an average of 30% on their water bills.

A second shortlist for keeping customers

The strength of those relationships has earned Everflow a second nomination, as a finalist in The Customer Loyalty Awardat the 2026 programme. The figures at the heart of that entry are the same ones underpinning its growth case: the business cites a 97% customer retention rate and a 4.7-star “Excellent” Trustpilot rating drawn from more than 6,000 reviews. In a sector where switching is easy and loyalty is hard won, Everflow argues that proactive service, from leak alerts to transparent pricing, is what persuades customers to stay year after year.

Growth with a green pledge

Commercial momentum has been matched by environmental commitments. Everflow says it was the first water retailer to pledge Net Zero by 2040, and it continues to invest in water efficiency, renewable energy and carbon reduction initiatives. In its entry, the business argues that this blend of innovation, sustainability and customer service has reset expectations of what a utilities provider can be.

Finalists for the 2026 Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards were announced in July 2026. Everflow will discover whether either of its shortlistings converts into a win when the ceremony takes place in November.
