We at the British Business Excellence Awards are thrilled to announce Business in the Community (BITC), the largest and longest-established business-led membership organisation dedicated to responsible business, as the official Responsible Business Partner for our 2022 awards.

What are the awards?

Our business awards programme is committed to highlighting the British businesses which makes the most excellent impact on their communities regardless of shape or size, which perfectly aligns with BITC’s philosophy.

The programme will see networking events, round tables and exemplar judging processes hosted through the year, all building to the spectacular awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 8, at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Who are BITC?

BITC is a British business-community outreach charity. It was founded in 1982, with HRH The Prince of Wales as the Royal Founding Patron.

BITC is calling for businesses to be braver, bolder and faster in its 40th anniversary year. The organisation challenges businesses to do their part to build a fairer and greener society through responsible business commitments.

The reaction

Nick Diamond, Memberships Director from Business in the Community, commented on the announcement:

“Business in the Community is delighted to become the Responsible Business Partner for this year’s British Business Excellence Awards. These awards are completely in harmony with our vision, supporting businesses that make a difference and have a positive impact on our communities.

“Recognising businesses that go beyond profit and embed purpose into their organisations is important as a lot of the incredible work that is being done often goes unnoticed. Businesses should feel proud as they work together to create a fairer and greener society and while there is still more work to be done, it’s only right that we celebrate the progress that is being made.”

Head of Sponsorship & Partnerships Carmela Coop-Rodia added commented:

“We are extremely privileged to be the official 2022 awards partner for Business in the Community, teaming up with them during their 40th anniversary. The work that Business in the Community do is extremely inspirational and it’s even more remarkable to see that they’ve reached their fourth decade.

“Everything that Business in the Community stands for is in-line with the vision and values that we hold here at the British Business Excellence Awards, and that makes the partnership feel even more special for us. We’re excited to see what’s in store for British businesses over the next few months and hope to see many businesses, especially those that have positive impacts on their communities, enter the awards.”
