The Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards (www.britishbusinessexcellenceawards.co.uk) have today announced their partnership with the City of London Corporation.

The City of London Corporation is the governing body of the Square Mile dedicated to a vibrant and thriving City, supporting a diverse and sustainable London within a globally-successful UK. It leads from the front through prioritising the promotion of sustainability, diversity, and economic growth.

On a practical level, the City of London Corporation provides local government services for both City workers and residents of the Square Mile. However, their responsibility extends to more than 11,000 acres of green spaces, housing across London and a range of schools and academies in the capital.

The Small Business Research + Enterprise Centre is a dedicated support and advisory service offered to small businesses and forms part of a wider service offer for SMEs - ranging from financial to sustainability, real estate to procurement. This exclusive function, provided by the City of London Corporation, is a service accessible to businesses ranging from start-ups to SME level, across the City, London and the United Kingdom.

The Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards is the elite business awards programme for businesses of all shapes and sizes. The awards are hosting a year-long programme of networking events, round tables and exemplary judging processes, all of which will then culminate in a spectacular ceremony on Tuesday 8th November 2022 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

Jason Pritchard CC, City of London Common Councilman and Small Business, Co-ops and Social Enterprise Champion comments on the recently announced partnership:

“The City of London Corporation aims to contribute to a flourishing society, shape outstanding environments and support a thriving economy, as set out in our Corporate Plan.

“A thriving SME ecosystem in the Square Mile is a crucial component of our aim to be a global hub for innovation and excellence in commerce. Therefore, being part of the British Business Excellence awards supports our passion for entrepreneurship and we are delighted to be a key partner.”

Sarah Austin, Founder & Director of the Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards, commented on the announcement:

“The City of London Corporation represents a great deal both domestically and on a global scale, so to announce our partnership with such an influential entity only goes to strengthen the prestige of the British Business Excellence Awards. With the City of London Corporation having such a visible emphasis on economic growth and societal levelling-up, we couldn’t have asked for a greater partnership.

“Business in the UK is currently in a state of flux, it is more important than ever that we lead from the front, join together and celebrate our successes. Through grit and guile, innovation and introspection, Great British business has defied the odds and will continue into prosperity going forward.”
